American space program is called The National Aeronautics and Space Administration – NASA. It is an independent civilian space agency that is part of the Executive Branch of US federal government. President Eisenhower established NASA in 1958. The National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics NACA was changed, establishing NASA, after National Aeronautics and Space Act was passed in 1958.
