Was the President from 1901 to 1909, becoming the President after the death of McKinley
He was very sick with Asthma as a child but fought it with strenuous lifestyle. He loved nature
After the death of his wife and his mother within a few hours, he got dejected, quit politics and went to Dakota territories for 2 years.
He was the Assistant Secretary of Navy under McKinley but resigned to participate in the Spanish American War, by leading the Rough Riders.
He became popular after this war and was elected Vice president in McKinley in his second term
At 42 he is the youngest to become the US President
He focused on conservation, national parks, forests, monuments etc and also started Panama Canal construction.
He expanded the Navy and sent the Great White Fleet on a world Tour
He chose Taft as his successor but contested against him after his 4 years but lost the election
During his campaign speech, he was shot but was saved by his speech paper and his glass case
After his election defeat he led a two year expedition to Amazon and almost died due to tropical disease
