His achievements were Marshall plan to help Europe after WW 2, established Truman Doctrine and NATO to limit Communist expansion. But he authorized the first and only use of nuclear bombs on

Truman recognized Israel as a country in 1948
Everybody thought he was going to lose the second term election but he won in 1948
Korean War started during his presidency. He had big conflict with General McArthur, regarding military decisions in Korean War and had to fire him. This decision made him unpopular
There was an assassination on him in Washington DC in 1950
He made it illegal to discriminate against persons applying for civil service positions based on race
He was in a bad financial state after his presidency. Because of his condition, in 1958, Congress passed the Former Presidents Act, offering a $25,000 yearly pension to each former president,
